Here’s our round-up of alumni news from the week of December 30, 2017:

  • A belated congratulations to Dana Slayton (’17), who was named American Abroad Student of the Month in October. Dana is currently spending a year in Morocco as a part of the National Security Language Initiative Youth (NSLI-Y) program.
  • Christopher Benos (’14), Samantha Marquez (’14), and Hannah Lyons (’14) returned to MLWGS to talk to current students about college (pictured above).  Read more here.
  • Rasheeda Creighton (’95) is Capital One’s director of the 1717 Innovation Center, a 42,000-square-foot space in Shockoe Bottom that will serve as an incubator for as many as 50 startup businesses at a time.
  • Neil Amin (’96), CEO of Shamin Hotels, is offering free hotel rooms to the 50 families living in Creighton Court apartments with broken heating systems.
