Alumni News Round-Up: Week of February 17, 2018

February 22, 2018 / Catherine Nicholas / Blog

Here’s our round-up of alumni news from the week of February 17, 2018:

  • We’re truly thrilled to share that the Governor’s School Foundation has received a gift of $100,000 from Amishi Amin & Neil Amin (’96). The gift will be used to found the Shamin Hotels Speaker Series at MLWGS and to upgrade existing classroom space to create The Purnima Amin Physics and Robotics Design Center. We cannot thank Neil and Amishi enough for their generosity, not just now but in many different ways over the lifetime of the Foundation.  And if you’re thinking about the alumni annual fund campaign…the Class of 1996 is now the class to beat!  Help us keep up the momentum by making a gift here.
  • Paste reviewed Charterstone, the newest Stonemaier game designed by Jamey Stegmaier (’99), and called it “a brilliant, well-balanced, quick-moving game.”
  • Watch DC Comics writer Marguerite Bennett (’06) talk about her upcoming projects, which include BC Bombshells and Batwoman.
  • Thanks to everyone who came to our February RVA alumni happy hour event at The Circuit!
  • ICYMI: We profiled Livvy Call (’14).
