Alumni News Round-Up: Week of July 21, 2018
Here’s our round-up of alumni news from the week of July 21, 2018:
- Charles Merritt (’03) is the CEO of Buddy, one of ten companies selected to join the inaugural class of the 2018 MetLife Digital Accelerator powered by Techstars.
- Khiem Tran (’06) delivered blankets to cancer patients across Virginia as part of his work with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. “Being able to deliver 80 blankets along with care cards to patients across the state of Virginia, it’s really rewarding. It makes my job much more fulfilling than sitting behind a computer everyday,” says Khiem.
- Camille V. Yoke (’16) is interning at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, working on a thruster like the one that might send astronauts to Mars in the future.
- Lacy Spott (’10) is part of VCU Ventures, a new program that helps launch and support startup business ventures that are based on intellectual property born at the university.
