Alumni News Round-Up: January 2019
Here’s our round-up of alumni news from the month of January 2019:
- Stonemaier Games, headed by Jamey Stegmaier (’99), is publishing a new game called WINGSPAN. “Featuring an all-female design team headed up by Elizabeth Hargrave, Wingspan is an engine-building board game where players take on the role of bird enthusiasts who are trying to discover and attract the best birds to their nature preserves.”
- Dan Myers (’00) is the managing director of Lighthouse Labs, the Richmond-based business accelerator that is now accepting applications for its summer 2019 cohort, which will focus on startups founded by recent graduates of colleges and universities in Virginia. You can find the application here.
- Batwoman by Marguerite Bennet (’06) has been nominated for a GLAAD Media Award in the category of Outstanding Comic Book.
- Lucy Dacus (’13) is launching a holiday-themed singles series called 2019. The first entry, in honor of Valentine’s Day, is a cover of Édith Piaf’s “La Vie en rose.” “Hearing it, I knew that, one day, I would fall in love…. I want someone to listen to this while running at top speed to the doorstep of the person they adore, ready to profess their deep, undying love,” Lucy says.
