Here’s our round-up of alumni news from the week of December 15, 2018:

  • Emmanuel Pratt (’95), founder of the Sweet Water Foundation, won a $50,000 grant at the 2019 Joyce Awards, which he will use to fund a year-long renovation and activation of an abandoned house in Chicago with the goal of creating a place of safety and opportunity for the community.
  • BRIGHT Magazine wrote about Ubongo, non-profit social enterprise based in Tanzania and founded by Nisha Ligon (’04). 6.4 million kids tune in to watch Ubongo’s educational shows on television and radio every month.  “We look broader than just literacy. We hope that the outcome will be literacy, numeracy, and better life skills for more children in Africa,” says Nisha.
