Ubongo, founded by Nisha Ligon (’04), won the 2019 Next Billion Edtech Prize. Ubongo creates fun, localized and multi-platform educational media that reaches millions of African families through television and the internet.
- Caitlin Lane (’12) is appearing on this season of American Idol.
- UVAToday talked to Derrick Wang (’16), the new student representative to the Board of Visitors. “The board is delighted to welcome Derrick as its incoming student representative,” University Rector Frank M. “Rusty” Connor III said. “In his three years at the University, Derrick has distinguished himself in a number of ways, showing a commitment to academic excellence, a talent for leadership and a commitment to serving the University community. The student member brings a very important perspective to the board, and we look forward to working with him.”
- Sophia McCrimmon (’17) talked to the Cavalier Daily about UVA History Week, a week of themed tours hosted by the University Guide Service centered around different questions related to the University’s history.
