We’re pleased to share that the Taylor Teaching Award selection committee selected David Barnes as the 2019-20 winner! The committee is made up of education professionals unaffiliated with MLWGS who volunteer their time to assess applications each year. Mr. Barnes plans to use the award to travel to Tanzania, where he will hike Mt. Meru, go on safari in the Serengeti, and snorkel off the coast of Zanzibar. He will focus his research efforts on the effects of the physical environment on ecosystem community composition, the relationship between environment and culture, and the impact of global climate change on the environment in Africa. All of his data and observations will come back with him to the classroom. The Foundation is proud to fund this award in honor of Pat Taylor’s many years of service to the school.
