2017 Freshmen Parent Orientation

On the evening of May 24, parents of incoming freshmen assembled at Maggie Walker for an orientation session.  Speakers included incoming Director Dr. Lowerre, incoming PTSA president Anthony Taylor, Auction Committee & Advocacy Chair Peggy Feldmann, Fall Festival Committee Chair Samantha Dardick, School Advisory Council member Laura Razzolini, and Foundation Executive Director Suzannah Stora. After the presentation, parents gathered in the commons and cafeteria to meet each other and to sign up for various volunteer

SF/Bay Area Area Happy Hour

On May 18, 2017, alumni currently living in the San Francisco Bay Area gathered at Mars Bar for nachos, drinks, and conversation.  The group included alumni from 1996, 1997, 2004, 2009, and 2010, who work at places like Apple, Airbnb, and EventBrite.  Thank you to all the alumni who attended, and if you missed this one, we hope to see you at the next one!  Particular thanks to Mica Swyers, Harrison Mebane, and Christina Chern,

San Francisco/Bay Area Alumni Happy Hour

We're having an alumni happy hour at Mars Bar in SF on Thursday, May 18th, from 5pm-8pm, and we hope you can join us.  The Governor's School Foundation will be covering some drinks, so come to mingle, reminisce, and discuss the most pressing of Silicon Valley's issues: hand-pressed vs. smart machine-pressed juice.  Mars Bar is located at 798 Brannan St, San Francisco, California 94103.  Hope to see you there!

We're starting at 3:30 so that faculty can join at the end of their workday, but catch us when you're off work if you can make it! The 2017 Night of the Dragon auction is coming up on Saturday, February 25!  The auction raises money for the five booster groups, the PTSA, and the Foundation.
