On May 18, 2017, alumni currently living in the San Francisco Bay Area gathered at Mars Bar for nachos, drinks, and conversation.  The group included alumni from 1996, 1997, 2004, 2009, and 2010, who work at places like Apple, Airbnb, and EventBrite.  Thank you to all the alumni who attended, and if you missed this one, we hope to see you at the next one!  Particular thanks to Mica Swyers, Harrison Mebane, and Christina Chern,

We're having an alumni happy hour at Mars Bar in SF on Thursday, May 18th, from 5pm-8pm, and we hope you can join us.  The Governor's School Foundation will be covering some drinks, so come to mingle, reminisce, and discuss the most pressing of Silicon Valley's issues: hand-pressed vs. smart machine-pressed juice.  Mars Bar is located at 798 Brannan St, San Francisco, California 94103.  Hope to see you there!

Don't miss the Governor School Foundation's annual Grandparents and Special Friends Day on Friday, April 21! This is an afternoon event where we invite current students' grandparents (or other special family members and friends) to learn a little about our school, take a brief tour, and have a reception with their grandchildren. Join us for a faculty & alumni happy hour(s) at Blue Bee on Wednesday 2/22! We're starting at 3:30 so that faculty can join at the end of their workday, but catch us when you're off work if you can make it! We're hoping this will be the start of monthly Wind Down Wednesdays, which should help us all ease into Thursday and slide right into Friday.As always, invite your alumni friends!!  See you there!

Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate Mr. Phil Tharp, 'The Dragon Master,' who retired after 26 years at the Governor's School! The MLWGS family will certainly not be the same without him!
