Grant Spotlight: Yamaha Piano

This summer, the MLWGS Foundation contributed to the purchase of a new piano for the school.  The school's existing piano was roughly 20 years old and could no longer be completely repaired by piano technicians.  The piano is used regularly by all classes in the music department as well as for performances throughout the year.  We are glad to have been a part of making this possible!  Want to see it in use?  There's a video

Grant Spotlight: Music Department Trip to New Orleans

Every spring, orchestra and band teacher Karl von Klein organizes a trip open to any student taking a class within the music department.  This year, he is chaperoning students on a trip to New Orleans for the first weekend of this year's Jazz and Heritage Festival (aka Jazz Fest).  The Foundation provided a grant to reduce the cost of the trip for every student and provided additional financial aid to four students.
