DESCRIPTION:The 2025 Governor’s School Reunions Weekend will take place September 26-27\, 2025! \nEach year\, the Foundation helps coordinate events for Governor’s School classes celebrating 5-\, 10-\, 15-\, 20-\, 25- and now 30-year Reunions. \nAlumni of the Classes of 1995\, 2000\, 2005\, 2010\, 2015\, and 2020 are working on their individual Reunions Classes Celebrations on Saturday evening. Information about each class’s plans will be added here and shared via social media and email beginning the first weekend of August. If you’d like to help organize your class’s event\, email Foundation & Alumni Office Executive Director Ginger O’Neil at goneil@mlwgsfoundation and she will get you connected. \n  \nClass of 2000–The 25-year class reunion will be held on Saturday\, September 27\, at Vasen Brewery in Scott’s Addition from 7-9pm. Get more information and order tickets here! \n  \nClass of 2005–The 20-year class reunion will be held on Saturday\, September 27\, at Legend Brewing Company from 6:30-9:30pm. Get more information and order tickets here! \n  \nAlumni from ALL CLASSES are invited to Bottom’s Up Pizza on Friday evening (7-10pm) where the Foundation & Alumni Office will host a pizza buffet with cash bar. \nThe fun begins will begin with MLWGS Fall Fest\, which runs from 2-6pm at MLWGS.  A highlight for Alumni celebrating their 10-year Reunions is receiving their 10-Year Letters to Self\, which the Foundation coordinates during their senior years and returns at Fall Fest and the 10th Reunion class event. \nCheck back for  more information about Reunions Weekend 2025 as it becomes available!

DESCRIPTION:The Welcome Reception for Parents/Guardians of the Class of 2029 hosted by the Governor’s School Foundation is an informal chance for parents of the Class of 2029 to meet one another\, hear a bit from MLWGS’ new Executive Director Kristin Janssen about Maggie Walker and the work the Governor’s School Foundation does to support students and teachers\, and just enjoy a moment together during this exciting (and often slightly scary) time of transition.  \nTo accommodate busy schedules\, two Parent Welcome Reception times are planned for Thursday\, August 7.  (We anticipate the evening session filling quickly\, so please sign up to join us for the earlier session if you are able.) \nThursday\, August 7 \n4:30-6:00pm and 7:00-8:30 p.m.  \nThe Clubhouse at Libbie Mill Midtown \n5500 Coopers Walk Lane\, Henrico\, 23230 \nPlease select the time that works best for you  using this link  by Friday\, August 1.  And please RSVP even if you are unable to attend so we can share info with you after the event.

Online bidding begins March 15. \nThe 23rd annual Night of the Dragon–The Sneaker Ball– will take place on Saturday\, March 22\, 2025\, at The Flo and Tony Guzman Community Center\, The Faison Center. \nThe Annual Night of the Dragon Auction and Gala hosted by the Foundation is the single largest fundraiser for the Foundation\, MLWGS Booster groups\, and the PTSA! MLWGS supporters are encouraged to support the Night of the Dragon by attending the live event\, bidding online in the silent auction\, donating items and experiences that can be auctioned off\, and serving as event sponsors. \nLast year’s event at Hardywood Downtown in the fun and festive Barrel Room raised more than $70\,000 for our Dragons. Alumni from all classes gathered at Bottom’s Up Pizza on Friday evening (7-10pm). \nAlumni of the Classes of 1999\, 2004\, 2009\, 2014\, and 2019 celebrated their special reunions at the Reunions Classes Celebrations on Saturday evening from 7-10pm at ZZQ in Scott’s Addition. Grandparents or other special adults of all current students will be invited to tour the building\, hear a bit from Dr. Lowerre about our wonderful school\, and share refreshments with their grandchild(ren) at the end of the day. \nWe need your help with our guest list. Please fill out the form here for your child’s proud grandparent(s) or other significant relatives so we can send them an invitation. You may either have us mail the invitation or we can give it to your student(s) to deliver. \nInvitations will be ready the week before Spring Break. The RSVP deadline is April 22.
