For the past several years, Matt McGuire has taken a group of his AP Comparative Government student to Canada so to enhance their understanding of Canadian governmental structures and procedures.  This year, the group visited the capital city of Ottawa and the Ontario provisional capital of Toronto.  Students attended an hour-long meeting with John Baird, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as a meeting with Geoff Regan, the current Speaker of the House of Commons.  They also visited museums like Laurier House, the former home of two prime ministers.

Teachers like Mr. McGuire who are willing to plan and execute trips like this are one of the assets that make Maggie Walker such a great place to learn.  The Foundation was proud to provide $10,000 to offset the cost of this trip to students this year and in years past.  Support the Canada trip and other enhancements provided by the Foundation by donating to the Annual Fund today.
