Governor School Model UN returned victorious once again from their winter conference.  The team traveled to the Norfolk Sheraton Waterside from February 15th to the 18th to compete in the Old Dominion University Model United Nations Conference.  Over 2000 students were in attendance.  Team members participated in various committees focusing on a range of topics: disarmament, humanitarian aid, economic development, security council reform, rights of indigenous peoples, and Brexit.  Award winners included: Liam Goble-Garrett (’18), Aditya Kannoth (’18), Will Larson (’18), Andrew Shin (’18), Perisa Ashar (’21), and Riley De Witt (’21).

The Foundation offset the cost for all students attending the conference by providing a $2500 enhancement grant to the club.  We’re committed to providing up to $22,000 of support to offset costs for clubs and extracurricular activities this fiscal year. Help us continue to support MLWGS students by making a gift to the 2017-18 annual fund here.
