Annual Fund Donations
The Foundation’s Annual Fund provides essential and unique academic enrichment opportunities and improvements that benefit ALL STUDENTS and help set Maggie Walker apart from other schools.
Annual Fund gifts in 2024-25 will help us reach our goal of raising $375,000 overall to directly support the following:
Aid for students with financial need;
Student participation in curricular and extracurricular activities;
International and domestic student travel;
Teacher professional development.
Your contributions have a huge impact on the school and its students, and all donations are tax-deductible. Foundation contributors at $750 and above are invited to participate in Director’s Circle Events.
Make a one-time annual fund donation (credit card, Venmo, PayPal) or a recurring donation (credit card).
OTHER WAYS TO SUPPORT MLWGS
Families of seniors and graduates may purchase an inscribed paver to leave a lasting tribute at the school. This is a great way to honor your student and support the work done by the Foundation. Purchase a Bluestone Lobby paver or a brick paver surrounding the Maggie Lena Walker bust on the Lombardy St. walkway.
Donating to a Booster group is another way that parents can assist current students with specific extra- and co-curricular school experiences at Maggie L Walker Governor’s School. The current Booster groups are Athletic Boosters, Drama Boosters, Music Boosters, and Visual Arts Boosters.
The PTSA relies on your annual membership each school year to fund all our efforts to continue the Maggie Walker tradition of excellence for our students, faculty and staff. Parental involvement and volunteerism at Maggie Walker are some of our longest-standing traditions.
Our PTSA promotes a vibrant feeling of community and school spirit. Our events include Back to School Night, Fall Festival, faculty and staff appreciation events/special meals and student appreciation events. Click here to join the PTSA online.

Donations to MLWGS are investments in kids who are in the most formative times of their lives. Having educated people in our society is crucial, and this is an easy way to help. The funds of the Foundation are overseen by a director and volunteer Board, so I feel comfortable they’re being applied towards the mission of the school.
