About the Foundation
The Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School Foundation supports the Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School by cultivating resources to enhance the educational experience for all MLWGS students. MLWGS offers comprehensive educational opportunities that advance gifted students’ understanding of world cultures and languages. Our diverse and supportive community develops students’ character and ability to contribute, collaborate and lead.

Foundation Impact
Through dollars raised from parents, alumni, alumni families, and the community, the Governor’s School Foundation has provided more than $2.5 million in enhancements since its founding to support student travel, faculty professional development and continuing education, assistance for students in financial need, upgrades to classrooms and instructional equipment, and many more transformational opportunities and experiences for students. The Foundation provides the margin of excellence that is the hallmark of Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School.
