Thank you to everyone who attended our first freshmen parent welcome event on the evening of August 28. In addition to the freshmen parents, we were happy to host several current and alumni parents, as well as alumni and current students who were there to share their thoughts about their experience with the school.
Dr. Lowerre, the incoming Director at MLWGS, spoke to the crowd about his hopes for the year ahead and his appreciation for the support organizations (the Foundation, Boosters groups, and the PTSA) that help Maggie Walker provide enhanced opportunities for faculty and students. Foundation Board member Beth Bortz spoke on behalf of the Foundation.
Many thanks to the Lockes and Julie Wade for hosting, and thank you to the Foundation Events Committee for all their work. Freshmen parents, we look forward to getting to know you and your students as you embark on your Governor’s School journey!
