2017 MLWGS Princeton Model Congress

With help from the Foundation, the Model Congress Club attended this year’s Princeton Model Congress in Washington, DC.  Princeton Model Congress is the oldest model congress in America and attracts around 1000 participants from across the country.  Over the course of a long weekend, high school students simulate all three branches of the Federal Government of the United States of America under the direction of Princeton undergraduates.  The experience is intended to educate students in the workings of our government and to encourage their active involvement in the democratic process.  The Governor’s School Foundation provided $2500 worth of funding to offset the costs for every student participating.  Overall, we have committed $22,000 to fund clubs and activities this year at MLWGS.  Donate to the 2017-18 Annual Fund to support this and other academic enhancements for Governor’s School students.
